About the Speaker

Luke Gordy is Executive Director of the Arkansans for Education Reform Foundation, a 501c3 organization established to advance and support meaningful education reform.  Luke, 62, was a nine year member and two term chairman of the Arkansas State Board of Education.  He joined the Foundation after a 22 year career in banking.  Very active in both community development and community service activities, Luke's passion has been and continues to be supporting and improving public education.  He is currently serving on the Board of Governors of the Southwestern Regional Educational Laboratory, Board of Visitors of the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, is Chairman of the Education Committee of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Council on Economic Education.  He was named as the inaugural recipient of the 2004 Advocate of Education Award from the Arkansas Association of Professional Teachers.  Luke and his wife, Dr. Donna Gordy...who is President and owner of E2E Educational Consulting, reside in Little Rock.
